ACE Logistics\u2019 Lithuanian subsidiary is building a new modern logistics centre in Kaunas. The new building, which is logistically very well located, has a terminal area of 4000 square meters for cargo handling, plus office and household space for employees and drivers.\u00a0 In the centre there will be 40 standard loading ramps for trucks, plus special loading bridges for minibuses and trailers with side-loading capacity. The total volume of the investment, together with the necessary cargo handling equipment of the plotter, is in the order of 7 million euros.<\/p>\n

On September 25, the cornerstone for the new centre was laid by Andres Matkur, CEO of ACE Logistics Group, Karli Lambot, Board Chairman of ACE Logistics Group, Juana Kudarauskiene, CEO of ACE Logistics UAB, Ignas Puluikis, Project Manager of ACE Logistics UAB, and Tarmo Roos, CEO of Mapri Ehitus.<\/p>\n

Andres Matkur<\/strong>, CEO of ACE Logistics Group, says that until now, the company had a logistics centre in Lithuania only in Vilnius, but in order for the development to continue, the company\u2019s business model assumes the existence of a network of terminals, for which Kaunas is the most ideal location in Lithuania in terms of its position, capable of servicing Lithuania, the entire Baltic and also nearby regions. \u201cOur Kaunas centre is on the main route of the entire Baltic transport network, and from there we can service both Lithuanian and partially Latvia and Estonian and Scandinavian customers. We look to the future and believe in the growth of the economy, as well as an increase in our competitiveness due to the emergence of more optimal transport circles and consolidation opportunities. The new Lithuania logistics centre is also our group\u2019s largest single investment to date. The previous logistics centre in Rae Parish, Estonia, completed in the spring of 2020, cost in the order of 5 million euros.\u201d<\/p>\n

The building will be located near the Kaunas Free Trade Zone, which has developed into the largest such industrial and logistics park in the Baltic context, where many globally renowned companies are represented. ACE Logistics sees a great opportunity for synergy by being close to such a large special area that brings together different flows of goods with our centre.<\/p>\n

Juana Kudarauskiene<\/strong>, Managing Director of ACE Logistics UAB says:\u00a0 \u201cWith 40 loading ramps, the new logistics centre will significantly increase ACE Logistics\u2019 handling capacity, reducing transit times and improving service reliability for customers. The facility has been designed to handle increased freight volumes, ensuring that ACE Logistics is well-prepared to scale its operations in the coming years.\u201d<\/p>\n

The centre is expected to be fully operational by autumn 2025, marking the next phase in ACE Logistics\u2019 long-term strategy to expand its terminal network across the Baltics. \u201eWe anticipate that this new facility will play a key role in our future growth, supporting our vision for continued expansion,\u201d she adds.<\/p>\n

The new centre will be built with environmentally sustainable materials by integrating energy-efficient systems. It will use renewable energy resources and is equipped with electric vehicle charging stations. These initiatives align with ACE Logistics Group\u2019s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and advancing sustainable transport solutions.<\/p>\n

ACE Logistics Lithuania accounts for a third of the turnover of the ACE Logistics Group. Founded in 1996, it has since then firmly established itself in the Lithuanian logistics landscape. We provide our customers with various transport services, including road, air, sea and rail. Our speciality is fast and frequent forwarding for groupage shipments and partloads, for which a modern and optimal network of terminals is essential.\u00a0This also led to the decision to build a new logistics centre in Kaunas.<\/p>\n

ACE Logistics Group operates in five countries: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Ukraine. The Group\u2019s companies offer a variety of transport and logistics services, including air, sea, road and rail transport services, as well as warehouse and customs services. ACE Logistics Group employs more than 180\u00a0people, the company\u2019s consolidated turnover in 2023 was 45.5 million euros.<\/p>\n
